What a funny crazy / silly hat day! We had fun showing off our neat hats. What a fun way to show our school spirit!

Today during Music class, the AM class had a fun time singing songs and working together. Here is Mme. Edgett's blog for information about the learning that occurs during music class. https://mmeedgett.blogspot.com/

We practiced sorting objects in different ways. We used buttons to make different groupings; such as  sorting colours, shapes, sizes and texture. We also worked on representing the number 0 to 5 in different ways.

Mme. Alanna came to teach us lesson #2 of the We Thinkers lessons - Thinking Thoughts and Sharing Feelings. We talked about how someones facial expressions show what they are thinking and feeling and how we should or could respond to those feelings. It is important to look at someones face to understand and acknowledge those feelings. We talked about how we think with our brains and make special thought bubbles and we also care with our hearts for others' feelings.

We practiced three letters today - X, Y and Z. We are getting better with our straight and curvy lines when letter printing. Let's keep up the great practice!

We counted and practiced le numéro cinq today. We demonstrated how to make different groups of 5.

We listened to the story Émilie apprend à Écouter. This story is about a girl who is learning to listen. Her friends and adults around her are helping her learn why it's important to listen. Everyone can change to become a better listener. If someone needs help, it is always nice to support them because it is important to listen to others and learn from our mistakes.

Today we practiced printing the letters V and W. We learned that W is 2 letter Vs stuck together!

During gym today we played some activities such as moving / walking backwards on a straight line to practice our coordination. We also practiced throwing and catching a ball over a net. M. Trever is teaching up great tips about how to catch a ball properly.
We starting a new center - the alphabet practice center. After a student rolls a 6-sided dice, we count the number out loud in French and the letter we land on is said in French to our partner. It is a fun game to practice letter recognition.

It is very important to use our words when someone around us is showing unexpected behaviour. We reviewed the stop sign strategy today. Please review with your child as this is a strategy that should continue to be used at school, at home, and also in other social settings.

Friday November 29 AM group – Jour d‘esprit / School Spirit Day – Crazy / Silly Hat Day - students can wear any type of homemade or store-bought hat, headband, head piece, etc that they want during the school day. We are looking forward to see your child's creative ideas!
(The PM group will have this Spirit Day later in the year :)

Today we heard other fantastic presentations about why each of us are unique! Bravo les amis, we are speaking in French with a clear voice. Even if your child forgot how to say a word or needed some guidance, they were encouraged to ask and repeat with a clear voice. We talked about how we learn from our mistakes and how we improve every day!

We also practiced the letter M and N today. Your child is always encouraged to start printing from the top - down. We are making some great progress with our printing practice.
