Today the AM group had a great visit to Telus Spark.  Thank you so much to our parent volunteers - you made our trip easy! Have a great weekend!

Today we read the book Hooway for Wodney Wat.  This linked our discussion from yesterday to our topic of  'unique' today.  

We spent some time discussing how to draw a self-portrait and the students did an excellent job of looking for details in the mirror.  We also enjoyed our last day of floor hockey in P.E., and visited the library for book exchange.

Reminder that the AM group is heading to Telus Spark tomorrow.  Please pack a small snack with your child (we will not be taking backpacks or full lunch boxes with us).

We also shared with the students the exciting news of our special guest dance instructor that will be starting next week!  The calendar for March (including dance performance!) will be posted tomorrow.

What a great Pink Shirt Day!  Thank you to everyone who sent their child in pink and who talked to their child about why we wore pink today.   Wearing pink demonstrates understanding of the importance of promoting healthy relationships & actively working toward creating learning & work environments that are safe & where bullying behaviours cannot exist.  More information can be found online.

We started our day by reading a book about a bully.  We discussed the difference between being mean  and bullying.  We then had a sharing circle where students discussed what they could do to include or be kind to someone else.  We traced and cut out our hands to remind ourselves about being kind to others.  After center time, we journaled "Voice ma chemise rose".  We finished the day be practicing the sound "V".

Thank you to those that have paid their activity fees.  We would love to have all the Kindergarten fees paid off by the end of the week.  This will help ensure that extra activities can take place in the future.  Please look at your Powerschool account or come in to the school if you need any assistance, merci.

Reminder that we have library book exchange tomorrow.

Today the students continued to work on their floor hockey skills in physical education.  We worked on representing the number 10 (dix) in math.  Before center time we had a reminder discussion about how we treat the materials in the classroom (toys, baskets, books, art supplies, etc.).  Walking on materials, kicking them, throwing them, etc., are not expected or respectful behaviours, and we would appreciate your support in reminding your child (this can also be reinforced with your expectations for home).  Reminder, tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day, please send your child in pink.  Merci beaucoup!
